Tis the Season

Boy there has been so much going on this past week my head is spinning. It seems like Christmas will be here before I know it and I haven't had a chance to enjoy any of it. Here are a couple of Christmas projects that I have got to work on.

Christmas Crafts have begun!

The Christmas creativity has begun. I am in trying to get myself in the Christmas spirit. It is just going to be a wonderful holiday.

Santa Is Here

Well the Santa's workshop challenge started today on www.sassycardsnscraps.com. You still have time to sign up. We have also posted our first dt stuff on there. There is so much creative stuff going on right now. I leave next weekend to attend a fiskateer even in Virgina city, NV. I am so excited. Not only do i get to spend the day scrapping but I get to have a wonderful weekend away with my dh. I am sooo excited about that.

Girl's Scrapbook Weekend

What a busy week

Well the time has come and Alyssa is leaving for Army bootcamp this week. In the middle of this I am planning a surprise 60th birthday party for my dad. What a busy week I have ahead. The card above is the invitation to his party . They are simple and I got to use alot of my scraps up. Well wish me luck to get everything done.

Summer Fun

I just love this little altered paint can I did. This is a prima flowers bucket that I added some sand, shells, and a sticker on the front of it. This is a picture of my friend's daughter and I gave it to her as a gift.

Guitar Hero

Ok so I have had these great pictures of dh for a while and have been wanting to scrap them, but not just scrap them in the usual way. So yesterday I sat down and spent 4 hours working on this. I paper pieced the guitar dude and the book with the screen. I am happy with the way it turned out.

Ok I suck

I suck at this blogging thing but I have a great excuse. We finally got my dd graduated from high school. I can't tell you all the planning, buying, organizing, buying, decorating, buying, celebrating, and buying some more. But it was a wonderful time for all of us. Now in just 4 weeks she will be leaving for the Army. So in the mean time to keep my mind off it I am full speed ahead with the job hunting and trying to do some scrapbooking.

New Love!

Pink Paisley-It is so yummy. This layout was done with pink paisley, basic grey, and new YUMMY YUMMY prima flowers. I so need to find more of this stuff.

On a personal note we are officially 2 weeks from graduation. There is so much to do to get ready for graduation. I think I need a vacation...LOL

Memorial Day weekend, so much to do this weekend. But as we take a step back from our lives on Monday to remember all of those who have passed it makes you think of so much. As I will watch my dd do her last color guard for ROTC my thoughts will be to her. Her new adventure she will be embarking on in the Army and how we are so proud of her. Please take time this memorial weekend to think about all the young men and women who have chosen to protect our freedoms and that they will all come home soon.

Boy it has been awhile

Boy it has been a while since I have last posted. So much going on here in the McDonald house. Well we took Alyssa last weekend and she got her graduation dress. Boy has time flied. I can't believe she will be leaving in July. That brings me to another point, Alyssa is now living with us. It has been a big change for all of us but dh and I love every minute of it. So scrappin wise I have been busy working on graduation presents and graduation cards. You always think you have so much time to complete things but you really don't. So wish me luck I am going to lock myself in my scraproom.

Stop 6 on my around the world challenge

This stop was in Rio. We were to use bright colors, scrap an event, and use lots of bling. This is the cake from my daughter's 16th birthday. The topper on her cake was on my 16th birthday cake and her grandma's 16th birthday cake. It is a family tradition and now they are put away for when her child turns 16. TFL

Sharks Win!

Ok so one of the things I miss about the bay area is going to Shark games. I love the excitiment of hockey and being there is the best. Well the Sharks tonight won the western division, it was such an exciting games. (Lots of fights LOL) So all I have to say is......GO SHARKS!

Stop 4 on my around the world challenge is Antarctica

This week they wanted to see white space, a handmade embellishment and you could use color but it all had to be the same color so I chose pink. My handmade embellishment is the flower. This is a picture I took of alyssa just 2 weeks ago. She and her friend were outside goofing off so I decided to get out my camera. I love how the wind is blowing her hair away from her face. TFL

Spring Has Sprung

I love spring it is like a new beginning. This is one time of year I missed the most about living in the city. The colors of spring and the new baby birds are all out. Even last night we pulled weeds in our yard. Can't do that in the city. I know this time is going to pass too quickly and we will be in the 110 degree weather but for now I am just going to try to enjoy it.

Stop 3 on My around the world trip is China

This week's challenge was to create a round layout, all in blue tones, and to add some sort of bird on it. This one was hard for me but I think it looks ok.

The Ball is finally over

I can't tell you how tired I was. But it is over and it looked great. To top it all off Alyssa won Queen of the ball. She looked so pretty. The pictures above are of the entry way and the ballroom. Not bad for 2 hours of decorating.

Stop 2 on My around the world trip is Egypt

Here is my layout for the next round at scraplovers.com. This week we had to create a layout with purple, gold, a crown, and a picture larger thatn 5X7. I procrastinated but I got it done.

A Father's Love

Is the first layout that I did for my around the world journey on the scraplovers.com web site. I am excited how it turned out. This is my favorite picture of Russ and Alyssa. I took the picture last year at her military ball. Now six more challenges till the end of the contest. Wish me luck!

My new project

So I creative this for a friendship challenge on the Friskateer web site. I just love how it turned out. I actually made this for my sister and it will match her room I hope perfectly. I can't wait to see her reaction.

Exciting Layout

Ok this weekend I made a layout that I am really excited about. I did all the doodling by myself and I love how it turned out since I really don't like to doodle. And all my favorite layouts have lots of flowers and this one is no different. I am just really happy overall. Thanks for letting me share.

All Ready to go

Well I am already to go for my girl's crop tomorrow. The table is cleaned off the goody bags are ready to go, now all i have to do is wait...The waiting is the hard part..LOL

End of January

Can you believe it is the end of January already? Where did the month go? It seems like it was just Christmas. There is so much going on right now with starting the new business and helping dd with her military ball. We are a month away from that and there is still so much to do. We have however started the centerpieces. We made these great candle holders out of wine glasses and vellum. I am very pleased on how they turn out. Now only 1,000 more things to do, PLUS get a dress, and hair, and nails, and and and........LOL

So Much Fun!

Ok so yesterday I got out my new cricut expression and the software and decided that I would try to figure it out. Well I had a so much fun and I made these great scrapbook quotes for the walls in my scraproom. I just love how they turned out and I can change them at anytime with no major damage to the wall. Now the next question is what do I cut next???

Oh my goodness

It has been a long time since I have been on here. So much has happened in the last couple of months. DH and I both got layed off from our jobs, we moved over 150 miles away from our old home, DH got a new job, I am looking for a job, and I GOT MY SCRAPROOM! I am sooo excited. Oh and our new house is okay too...LOL
